The Winnebagoland Division,
MWR,
NMRA, is a not-for profit
organization and exists to promote the hobby of scale model railroading. The
Division was officially chartered in April, 1965. It encompasses the entire
Northeastern portion of Wisconsin and the Western half of the Upper Peninsula in
Michigan. We have nearly 230 NMRA members, four Master
Model Railroaders, and countless other modelers and railfans in our Division.
Click here for a rundown of all the
counties we cover in WI and the upper peninsula of MI.
Our quarterly e-newsletter is called The Winnebagoland
Whistle. You can download it
here!
The Whistle was presented in print form beginning in 1968 to
the end of 2009. It was a good run!
With today's focus away from print, we are bringing everyone a
chance to download it via the web.
Visit us often here at wld-nmra.com to keep
up-to-date with news, modeling tips, and prototype based articles via The
Winnebagoland Whistle!
The Division holds two formal meets per year, one in spring
and one in fall. The format for
these meets can be found on our new Convention Guidelines page.
Both meets feature a full schedule of layout tours, clinics, NMRA and
Popular Vote Contests for models and photographs along with a luncheon or
banquet featuring a guest speaker.
Please visit our Ready Track page for the locations and dates of our upcoming
meets.
In an effort to increase the popularity of model railroading in our
division and to educate those just beginning on their journey into the hobby,
the Winnebagoland Division will be holding MONTHLY MEETINGS beginning in 2010.
These meetings will be a great way to join fellow
members and other interested modelers at a location near you as we plan to move
the location on a regular basis.
The format will include model displays and popular vote
contests, clinics, and possible open houses at private or club layouts located
nearby.
Please check back often to follow the progress in this new effort of
spreading the hobby!
There are many clubs within our Division and most welcome
visitors. Some clubs sponsor non-Divisional events during the year such as swap
meets, open houses, or public displays.
Please follow the LINKS provided on this site or view
our Ready Track for information regarding these events.
